This devastating Category 4 storm has left the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique in Grenada with unimaginable destruction, affecting nearly every aspect of life.

Hurricane Beryl has caused near-total devastation on Carriacou and Petite Martinique, with 98 percent of buildings damaged or destroyed. Key infrastructure, including the Princess Royal Hospital, the main airport, and marinas, has been severely affected. The electrical grid and communication systems are down, leaving the islands in a critical state. The natural environment has also been heavily impacted, with widespread destruction of vegetation and mangroves.

Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, has described the situation as “total destruction,” emphasizing the need for comprehensive rebuilding efforts.
